Re: GKCPSCU President/CEO Selection
In January 2018, the Board of Directors contracted with JMFA to launch a national search for the next CEO of the Greater KC Public Safety Credit Union. A hiring committee was formed within the Board. This committee was made up of Rich Lockhart, John Mueller, Jan Zimmerman and Dan Haley.
The Hiring Committee reviewed more than 70 applicants for the CEO position. The group was narrowed to five for phone interviews and finally two for an interview with the full Board. During this process, all the candidates expressed a desire to lead this Credit Union because of how well it has performed, its strong capital position, potential growth and the desire to be part of a public safety credit union.
The full Board met on July 25, and interviewed the two finalists. Both finalists were excellent candidates with outstanding credentials and the Board was confident that both candidates could lead the Credit Union into the future capably.
After Board deliberation, it was unanimously decided to offer the Greater KC Public Safety Credit Union CEO position to Mary Shea. Mary is the current Interim CEO and has been a Greater KC Public Safety Credit Union employee for 30 years. Mary has demonstrated the qualities required by the Board to lead this Credit Union. The Board is very satisfied with the current direction of the Credit Union and wishes to continue on this path. Mary brings leadership, knowledge, experience and stability to our CEO position. The Board looks forward to many years of her leadership.
The Board would like to thank all of the outstanding individuals who applied to be our CEO. This is a testament to the outstanding organization that has been built to serve our members. The Board would also like to thank our Hiring Committee for the work they have put into the selection process.
Congratulations to Mary!
Eric Winebrenner, Board President
