With the ever-changing world we are currently navigating due to COVID-19, scammers are looking to take advantage of the situation, leaving many to become victims of fraud. Our team is here to help you stay alert and keep the scammers at bay.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, here are a few things to look out for:

  • Do not respond to emails, phone calls, or texts regarding the government stimulus checks. If someone claiming to be from the government is asking for personal or banking information, it’s a scam. To stay up to date on information pertaining to the stimulus check, visit the IRS website.
  • Avoid clicking on links from unconfirmed sources. Scammers use email and text messages to phish for your personal information.
  • Be aware of the products you are purchasing online.
  • Do your homework when it comes to monetary donations through charities or crowdfunding websites.
  • Ignore or hang up on robocalls. Do not follow the instructions given or push any buttons.
  • Avoid any online advertisements for COVID-19 vaccinations or in-home test kits. There are currently no FDA approved home tests for the coronavirus.
