The Facts: 3 Reasons your Money is Best Left in the Bank

As health concerns continue to rise, we all must take the appropriate steps to ensure not only the well-being of our personal health, but our personal finances. We want to assure you that your money is safe and give you a few reasons on why you should leave it in your Credit Union account.

Your money with us is insured

Greater KC Public Safety Credit Union is an accredited financial institution backed by the NCUA. That means your money with us is fully insured up to $250,000. This insurance comes with the "full backing and credit of the United States government," as it says in the footer of our website.

"The safest place for your money is inside a bank," says the FDIC. "Banks will continue to ensure that their customers have access to funds either directly or electronically."

Cash may actually become harder to use

Speaking of accessing funds electronically, online payments may actually be easier than cash payments.  In fact, there are businesses restricting the use of cash in response to health concerns. Even if a business still accepts cash, it might be prudent to consider electronic payments as a precaution to protect your health.

On top of that, keeping money in your Credit Union account makes it easier for you to track your finances through our online banking services. We're starting a series to help you learn about our online tools so you can take advantage of your financial well-being without having to step foot in a branch.

We're always here for what you need

Although we've adjusted our operations to ensure the health and safety of our members and staff, we'll still continue to offer our full range of products and services. If you have any questions or need financial assistance, our call center is open and ready to help

During this time of uncertainty, know you're not alone. As we all work to ensure the well-being of our ourselves and our families, know that we have your account covered. In fact, now more than ever, we hope you'll let us be an asset for your financial peace of mind.
